Cisco acquires Code BGP

We are very pleased and excited to announce that Cisco has acquired Code BGP! We are joining Cisco ThousandEyes, which is committed to providing the most extensive and authoritative view of Internet health and digital experiences across any network. This marks the end of an adventurous and fun journey we started back in January 2021, when we (Fontas, Vasileios and Lefteris) founded Code BGP, and the beginning of an exciting new chapter in our professional lives with Cisco.

Cisco is synonymous with the networking space, and ThousandEyes is a market leader in Internet visibility and network assurance. Code BGP's acquisition will increase ThousandEyes’ pace of innovation, accelerating its efforts to deliver the best possible digital experiences to users worldwide. We will add critical BGP expertise to the team, enabling ThousandEyes to continue to expand its Internet routing visibility and correlation capabilities. Together, ThousandEyes and Code BGP will strengthen end-to-end assurance for digital experiences over the Internet—critical for SaaS providers, Communication Service Providers, and enterprises to reduce the time to detect and diagnose Internet performance and security issues that could disrupt business continuity.

We are very excited that our entire Code BGP team will continue this journey with us, and we would like to thank everyone who has trusted and helped us in our journey. The entire team has received a lot of support from many people from different communities, and we are grateful to everyone. We would especially like to thank our remarkable team, as well as Marathon Venture Capital, who deserves special thanks for making this journey possible and for helping us along the way. We are very proud that our acquisition brings ThousandEyes to the Heraklion and Athens ecosystems in Greece, which are filled with high-quality talent from local institutes, such as the University of Crete and FORTH. Research and innovation have been integral to ThousandEyes since its founding, and we believe that this collaboration will be extremely beneficial for all parties involved.
